BUSINESS
Winter term: Information Technology - A study of the changing role of information technology and management information systems in business organizations today. Information technology is an essential enabler of innovation and the means to get the right information into the hands of the right people (management, customers, and suppliers) at the right time. (3-hours of lecture per week).
Winter term: Human Resource Management - A study of the fundamental functions of human resource management, including human resource planning, job analysis, recruitment, selection, orientation, training and development, performance appraisals, career planning, compensation and benefits, and health and safety. (3-hours of lecture per week).
Winter term: Applied Marketing Management - This course explores the practical application of marketing concepts in real world business situations. Using the case method, marketing opportunities and/or challenges in a variety of different industries are analyzed in depth and alternative strategies are evaluated. (3-hours of lecture per week)

FRENCH
Fall term: Advanced French I - A study of the French language, which includes readings in French and French-Canadian literature and culture, with emphasis on language functions and vocabulary enrichment. Various authentic materials, as well as CDs, DVDs, videos, newspapers and internet sites are used to stimulate discussions designed to improve the student’s oral facility.
Fall term: French Language Practice I - An intensive review of French grammar with emphasis on vocabulary enrichment and composition techniques. Topics will include: French-Canadian society, history of the French language.
Winter term: Advanced French II - A study of the French language with emphasis on language functions, vocabulary enrichment, and the ability to discuss and write about various cross-cultural topics. Cooperative learning activities, films, CDs, video-clips, and a course-pack are used to stimulate discussions designed to improve the student’s oral and written facility, as well as the ability to enter Francaphone culture.
Winter term: Nineteenth-Century French Theatre and Poetry - A study of selected plays and poems by the major French writers of the nineteenth-century. Special attention will be given to the evolution of these two genres throughout the century. Among the authors studied: Lamartine, Vigny, Musset, Hugo, Leconte de Lisle, Baudelaire, Verlaine, Rimbaud, Mallarmé, and Rostand.

GEOGRAPHY
Winter term: World Geography - This course provides an overview of the geography of the world. The course will break down the world into regions (e.g., North and South America, Asia, Africa, Europe) and examine elements of physical, cultural, historical, economic, and political geography within each region. The course will examine international relationships within regions and between regions, and how these relationships affect, and are affected by, aspects of cultural, economic, and political geography. It also explores areas such as cultural comparisons and resource utilization, differences in levels of economic development, and environmental influences on cultural development.

PHILOSOPHY
Winter term: Philosophy of History - A treatment of selected topics relating to historical consciousness and the nature of historical knowledge. Both classical and contemporary positions on historical explanations are considered.

PSYCHOLOGY
Fall term: Personality - An introduction course to modern American and European theories of the psychological structure, dynamics, and development of human personality. In addition to major theories of personality, personality assessment and measurement are discussed.

Assistant Professor, Economics - The preferred candidate will work within the 4-year Politics, History and Economics (PHE) degree program, as well as providing courses for students in the Commerce and Environmental Studies degree programs. The teaching portfolio will include Micro and Macro Economics, Ecological Economics, plus a selection of courses related to the PHE program, such as Political Economy, Developmental Economics, and Economic History. Assistant Professor Chemistry - Ever wonder about a career in a Christian liberal arts and sciences University? The preferred candidate will have the ability to teach in two of the areas of inorganic, analytical and organic chemistry, will be interested in teaching and obtaining external funding to conduct research with undergraduate students and is committed to a faith-based approach to the discipline.

Assistant Professor Clinical Psychology - The successful candidate must be able to teach courses in Introductory Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling, and Abnormal Psychology. Additional course assignments could include one or more of Psychometrics, Community Psychology, or Developmental Psychology. Clinical experience is a highly desirable asset. The successful candidate will contribute to a growing and dynamic four-year B.A. with a psychology major and a three-year B.A. with a psychology concentration in which psychology is integrated in a liberal arts context. The successful candidate should be able to articulate, develop, and model a Christian approach to psychology in teaching, clinical practice, and research, recognizing how faith shapes the theory, methods, and practice of the discipline.

FACULTY POSITION as DIRECTOR OF ADULT STUDIES in BUSINESS Position

Director of Adult Studies Business, a position with both administrative and faculty responsibilities. An eleven month position, starting spring ‘11.

Qualifications

Ph.D. preferred, Master’s Degree required. Experience in administration strengthens the application; experience in college-level teaching and scholarship desired. Trinity seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education in the tradition of Reformed Christian higher education and be competent to demonstrate to students a mature articulation of faith and learning. Faculty members are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside the classroom in advising, social interaction, and informal academic and cultural settings.

Responsibilities

The position is a combined teaching/administrative one, with the majority of time devoted to teaching. The teaching responsibilities, which would match areas of expertise and include Strategic Management and the Senior Capstone, are primarily in the Adult Studies Business program, with teaching in the traditional program. The director develops new adult learner guides and facilitator guides. The administrative portion includes these responsibilities: interview and approve prospective students; advise prospective, current, and returning students; contract and supervise adjunct instructors; coordinate and participate in course development and assessment to continue to meet accreditation standards; assist with marketing the program; prepare the annual budget; supervise entrance requirements for the program; and other such duties. The position includes some evening hours. The director reports to the chair of the business department.

Compensation

Rank and salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, pension, life insurance, and disability insurance.
